Hertz (Hz) |
Hertz is the standard unit of frequency. One Hertz is equal to one cycle per second.
Radio frequencies are usually measured in kilohertz, megahertz, or gigahertz; this is why radio frequencies are commonly labelled with kHz, MHz, and GHz. The meaning of the used multipliers is given in the table below.
kilo | 103 | 1.000 |
Mega | 106 | 1.000.000 |
Giga | 109 | 1.000.000.000 |
Tera | 1012 | 1.000.000.000.000 |
Penta | 1015 | 1.000.000.000.000.000 |
