ATC

An Ancillary Terrestrial Component (ATC) is ground based infrastructure in a mobile satellite system to enhance the coverage of the satellite network. In the United States is the use of an ATC allowed in the 1.5/1.6 GHz, 2.000-2.020/2.180-2.200 GHz and 1.6/2.4 GHz Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) bands.

The Ancillary Terrestrial Component is known as Complementary Ground Component (CGC) in Europe.
