Cell Broadcast Centre |
The Cell Broadcast Centre (CBC) is an entity within a mobile network to send Cell Broadcast messages (SMS-CB). The Cell Broadcast Centre receives the messages from the information providers. At the CBC the messages can be modified, as well as the control data such as the specified area, the transmission period and the transmission repetition frequency. The CBC sends the messages towards the applicable base station controllers (BSC) within the mobile network.
The information provider uses a Cell Broadcast Entity (CBE) to define and control the SMS-CB messages. The CBE can be situated at the premises of the information provider.
