Telecom ABC - D
A dual mode handset is a handset that can work with two different standards and/or frequency bands. An example of a dual mode handset is a handset that use both GSM and WiFi (see UMA). The term was introduced for mobile phones that could be used on both a first generation (1G) analogue network as well as a second generation (2G) network, such as GSM.
