GSM Association

The GSM Association (GSMA) started as the global trade association for GSM. As such, the GSMA played an important role in the development of the GSM platform and the associated services. The GSMA is now expanded to represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide in the broader mobile ecosystem.

The GSM Association is founded in 1987. The GSM Association represents nearly 800 operators and more than 250 companies, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organisations in adjacent industry sectors.
