Mobility

Mobility is the capability of moving or being moved. The term is used in wireless telecommunications to indicate that a wireless device or a service may be used while moving. This means that if a network supports mobility:

• it has to be able to seamlessly transfer a customer from one base station to another while using the service (see handover) and,
• it has to keep track of the location of its customers, to handle incoming calls.
