IEEE 802.16m |
IEEE 802.16m is the development of a new radio interface within the IEEE 802.16 WirelessMAN-OFDMA specification to meet the requirements of IMT-Advanced next generation mobile networks. This means that IEEE 802.16m will be able to support data rates of up to approximately 100 Mbps for high mobility (up to 250 km/s) such as mobile access and up to approximately 1 Gbps for low mobility such as nomadic/local wireless access.
To support both low, medium and high data rates, IEEE 802.16m will use scalable bandwidths, including 5, 7, 8.75 and 10 MHz. IEEE 802.16m will be designed to make use of licensed bands that are identified for IMT-Advanced.
IEEE 802.16m plans to deliver the specification in 2009 ~ 2010.
