Wi-Fi Alliance |
The Wi-Fi Alliance is a global, non-profit industry trade association devoted to the promotion of the growth of wireless Local Area Networks or Radio Local Area Networks (RLAN). The Wi-Fi Alliance consists of more than 200 member companies from all over the world.
An important task of the Wi-Fi Alliance is their certification program. This program ensures the interoperability of RLAN products from different manufacturers. If a product passes the test, it is allowed to carry the Wi-Fi logo.
The original name of the Wi-Fi Alliance is Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA).
