L-band

The L-band (Long) is a portion of the microwave band ranging from 1-2 GHz, and a wavelength of around 20 cm; although other ranges are also used (especially 0.39 - 1.55 GHz). The L-band is mainly used for mobile communications, both terrestrial and by satellite. Other services include terrestrial and satellite broadcasting (DAB) and satellite navigation.
